The RCT EVO was equipped with a further development of the RCT engine. Initially the reword engine developed 405hp but after additional optimization, it produced 425hp.  Maximum torque was 420lbft. The RCT EVO was also based on the 3.6 liter normally-aspirated engine, with Motronic and twin-plug ignition. Cylinder heads with larger valves were taken from the Vario-ram equipped 993 engine. LIke the RUF RCT, the RCT EVO engine could be combined in all body and drivetrain variations. Fitted to a narrow Carrera body and with a high-geared six-speed gearbox, it could accelerate to 62mph in about 4 seconds, and reach a top speed of 199mph.
